This space is for you and your inner child to unpack this intergenerational trauma that has you performing and people pleasing. Or maybe you feel distant and numb when you want to soften but don’t know how to start.
This space is intentional for those who have done inner child work and want to dive deeper into their mother wounds due to colonization and patriarchy.
Here we center the historical trauma of our lineage and reclaim our inherent ancestral legacy magic.
We center our cultural burdens and legacy resources as our guide and our tools.
Unburdening Myself self guided conversation:
In this conversation, Cynthia Alonzo Perez discusses the concept of Marianismo and its impact on individuals, particularly those with roots in colonized cultures. Marianismo refers to the cultural behavior and attitudes that have been taught based on the Spanish conquest, rooted in Catholicism and colonialism. It emphasizes the value of being subservient, self-sacrificing, and for others. This way of showing up can lead to physical and emotional harm, as well as distance from one’s true self. Cynthia encourages the unburdening of Marianismo through ancestral medicine and reclaiming personal experiences of it.

Our group holds space for the history, grief, and silence the women in our lineages have lived through and assess what we are still carrying. Step into your Ser.
We explore ways in which the 4 elements support us and how to soften to Madre Tierra as a co-regulator. We use somatic approaches to awaken your inner ancestor and sharpen your intuition. We honor the 4 directions and our ancestral guides as a deeper intuitive knowing.
If you feel overwhelmed by always doing, giving and perfecting, we feel you! Marianismo wounds look like people pleasing and perfectionism as a great resource to survive. Now let's build a safe home for our inner child to come home to and thrive in. We address root issues and support your bloom.
Marianismo is a term coined by Chicano Scholars to give inclusive language to the values in our culture that are rooted in religion and patriarchy. When we live out these values they become a behavior and create a code in our DNA that is passed down to us as our epigenetics.
This could look like being the caregiver, the giver, the one that care for everyone first and themselves last (if at all). This value was a virtue in our ancestor’s era as it was a skill to survive. This virtue benefitted capitalism at the cost of one’s physical, emotional and spiritual body.
This group addresses OUR root trauma around colonization and the attachment and scarcity that has created in us. We unpack our mother’s wounds and re-pair false beliefs created out of toxic stress responses. We practice self forgiveness and grace through somatic and soft approaches .
Healing is not just a personal journey, it’s a collective one deeply rooted in indigenous wisdom and practices. This program honors the traditions and knowledge passed down through generations, focusing on intergenerational trauma within Latinx and marginalized communities.
Our virtual healing spaces and 1:1 coaching offers the tools and support you need to heal past wounds, reconnect with your true self, and improve your relationships. By integrating indigenous practices, we tap into a rich source of healing that respects and elevates our ancestral heritage.
My Marianismo: Unburdening Myself is the only space of its kind because the framework is curated by Cynthia Perez after research, ancestral wisdom and career experience working with our cultura to embody the healing work.

“I really appreciated this space. I feel like I had the opportunity to revisit and address aspects of my childhood and identity that were previously neglected. I feel better able to identify areas in need of improvement and am more open to personal growth.”
“Unlearning with my Inner Child has been the healing I didn’t know I need. Cynthia’s approach and creativity made this a space I looked forward to every week.”
Here’s What You Can Expect Each Week
We start with our colonized roots and the feelings surrounding these experiences. We hold space for epigenetic protection and our ancestor’s journey to survial and how we mirror these deep roots.
Understanding our Legacy Burdens and the protectors we created to survive are key pieces to building more awareness. We practice empathy for our lack and embody the safety we seek.
Participate in healing rituals that incorporate indigenous practices. Engage in a ceremonial platica to share stories and wisdom, and use journaling prompts to process and release emotional burdens.
We aren’t just our historical trauma, we are our legacy gifts and our divine magic. Let’s claim our gifts and release the knee jerk reaction to shrink, be humble, or minimize our wonderful legacy gift, our leaves.
Use guided visualizations and our senses to unblock our ancestral legacy resources and tap into our most authentic self. This is strengthening our epigenetic flow and building our emotional capacity.
We build our medicine bag for our personal rituals and repair.
Celebrating our essence, our shapeshifting, our ability to create magic out of mud! We honor our growth and our gifts as our rose to protect.
Prepare for the future by setting clear intentions for ongoing healing and growth.
